My recent posting about the local ABC affiliate going through a huge shake up and the discourse over at Oregon Media Insiders about how the craft of TV news journalism is diminished by the new solo VJ paradigm has me somewhat discouraged over what I see as a golden opportunity for huge shifts in the way content is presented and distributed.
I admit that I aspire to the quality of shooting that exists on such channels as Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, and others. It seems though that one cannot make it alone - or can they???

So it seems even in my home town, the uproar over cost cutting, low moral, and low pay has hit the local ABC affiliate here in Eugene, Oregon.
According to Oregon Media Insider, KEZI is going through a pretty intensive shake up and the old guard are letting it be known that once again, the new VJ paradigm is to blame.

Surfing the web today led me over at CURRENT.TV’s VJ training site
Now many would be VJ’s have the desire to become a part of the new wave of Indie Video Journalists, but lack the financial resources necessary for professional training.
