Underwater Videographer Podcast with Cliff Etzel

In addition to working as a solo videojournalist, I’m also an underwater videographer (I shoot video while freediving). Since 2003, I have published a website devoted to shooting video underwater ( http://www.uwdv.com )

Beginning Thursday August 23, 2007, I will be hosting a weekly audio podcast covering Underwater Videography.

The DVshow’s Producer, Brian Alves, has asked me to come on board as a result of the overwhelming positive feedback he has received with the last two interviews done with me for The DVShow.

Underwater Videographer ( http://www.underwatervideographer.tv ) will begin audio podcasting weekly covering all things related to shooting video underwater. We also have video podcasts in the works as well. The first show is scheduled for August 23rd at 11am PDT and all shows will be available for download via Apple’s iTunes website.

I will be talking with industry experts, answering listener questions, product announcements, and much more. We have some exciting things planned for upcoming podcasts. Among some of these plans is the opportunity to interview those who are in the industry.

To give you an idea of what to expect, you can download the August 13th segment where Brian talked with me answering questions related to shooting video underwater. You can download the MP3 file here

I hope to see you online for the premiere of the Underwater Videographer podcasts every week.

F.E.A.R and the detractors of the Solo VJ Paradigm

The Solo VJ detractors are at it once again with their adolescent rantings over on Michael Rosenblum’s blog.

So I’m going to expound a little on what I see.  One day a good friend of mine said something to me I’ll never forget.  The word “FEAR” was an acronym for how the vast majority of people live - and I see this coming from those who are against the Solo Video journalism movement.

“FEAR - False Evidence Appearing Real”

The detractors of the Solo VJ paradigm use this along with another acronym - FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt), to try and dispell the Solo VJ movement.
